Ohio

We spent a week in Ohio, visiting with Cameron and exploring the Miami River that flows through Troy.

Spitting cherry pits

Look its a crayfish.

Arlo is almost as tall as grandad.

What is that seed pod. Arlo says a Buckeye. He does seem to know everything!!

                                                               Throwing rocks

Jack is great at catching insects

Arlo likes to make faces for the camera

We taught them how to play Mexican Train Domino game

On the weekend we all went to a buffalo ranch

We panned for precious rocks and arrowheads while we waited for our turn to go into the Ohio caves

Then into the sink hole to enter the caves

After we visited a couple of historic castles

and saw "naked ladies" in the garden !!
(the flowers, of course)

Stopped for ice cream on the way home

The Davis boys built a Kinex roller coaster

Then ended the evening with a lively game of Mexican train

On Sunday we stopped by Cameron work, Indian Creek Fabricators

Then off to the WACO aircraft museum.

The boys enjoyed the flight simulator

Hands on fun

Cameron shows us how to to acrobatics

And grandad tries a water landing !!!

Arlo tries his hand at model flying.

Off to find the Lost Creek

Grandad gives a lesson in grass blowing

Which led to this duet

Lost Creek found !!

Dad and his tired boys

We listened to music and Mike found flute players and flute makers  to talk to.

After one more day enjoying rock throwing we headed for the airport and our long day of travel back to California.

We played in the snow outside the Hobart skating arena where the first Zamboni was tested.

Off to California via Washington DC with an hour on the runway because of a severe storm
