April and May are fun filled

In May,  Wendy's Garage Jammers group, which Mike is part of,  performed at the Cambria Heritage Days. They played a tribute to Art Van Rhyn who was a part of Wendy's garage jams.

Mike was in charge of the train whistle

In the garden the cactus is blooming

We enjoyed a few days at Santa Margarita
with our friends from Agoura
Cynthia and Jim. Good conversations,
good kayaking and good food.

Jack is taking a culinary class for fun this summer.

He and Cameron enjoy cooking together

And the best thing of all,
Arlo and his girlfriend Tamara
came to visit us the beginning of May.
Arlo has one more year of university and he is
working again this summer for GE Aerospace in Dayton.
Tamara grew up in Hawaii and enjoyed being at the ocean.
We played lots of Canasta.

Thursday farmers market at SLO with Kelly

Tamara loves animals so we went to
the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Bixby came over and the guys cooked together

We headed north to Ragged point for lunch

After hiking to the water falls at Salmon Creek

Plenty of Beach time

Time to walk in the forest

Playing the blades of grass

Looking at old photos

Before Arlo's visit,
Chris and Matthew and I
spent time at the beach before
they treated me to a birthday lunch.

When picking up the hwy 46 trash
we enjoyed the spring flowers in bloom

Earth Day at the Greenspace preserve

The restored Chinese Temple

Diane and Dolores and I ran the UUCC booth.
Plants and decorated rocks for sale
and a fun ecology activity

The tennis club was invited to tour and wine taste
at Stollo Parr winery.
A very sad note.
My longtime friend Natalie was found
passed away in her garden in New Zealand.
She was the first friend I made when
we arrived in the US in 1965.
We maintained our friendship even after she retired
to New Zealand. I will miss our many email
conversations, and her occasional visits to Cambria.
