Happy New Year. .. 2024...wow... We are working on a new lap top set up for us by Arlos friend R'dwan. Thank You R'dwan for your computer savvy. They have been visiting us from Ohio this last two weeks. I need to say how impressed and hopeful I feel after spending time with these two young men and what they have to offer in the future. Arlo is so focused on his path forward in life as he attends Wright State University and interns at GE Aerospace. R'dwan, who is in the same engineering program, has such passion and insight into his past life in Syria. Both are very knowledgeable and exciting conversationalists.
We enjoyed a trip around the local antique store
with my ultraviolet flashlight
looking for glowing green uranium glass.
lots of games
visits from Kelly and Bixby
and hot tubbing
glowing uranium glass
woodworking in thew garden
trips to the beach
Bixby helps grandad with his phone
and cooks us a delicious meatloaf
Another trip to look for uranium
more game fun
Over the 46 to Kellys house...
and more uranium glass.
Arlo applied the knowledge that he acquired
from his dad and fixed Kelly's
treadmill.
Some back yard archery
We had to search the bushes for the
wayward arrows
bent arrows
Grandad shared his knowledge
and...more games at Kellys
We drove up the Big Sur coast
to hike Salmon Falls
Lunch at Ragged Point
Most of the beach sand and rocks had been washed
away by the high tides but we found a few rocks
Arlo also has some auto maintenance knowledge
and helped to replace the RV air filter
We toured Cal Poly with Kelly and Liam and Noah.
the architectural design village
Lunch after at Firestone
Then it was time for Arlo and R'dwan to fly back to Dayton.
We dropped them at the SLO airport in the RV
because then we headed out to Santa Margarita
to camp for the weekend and take part in the
5 k run on Sunday morning.
Kelly brought the VW camper out on Saturday.
Bixby and his friend Jaxson rode their bikes
from Atascadero to the lake to join us.
More fun and games
And the 5 k was a great success.
Kelly and I actually did double
milage walking from the campground.
I love our family...we like each other.
and we have fun together.
We are blessed
