I proudly turned 70 today, May 2nd. I chose to go camping at Santa Margarita Lake to celebrate. Kelly and Bixby joined us and we took the kayaks out on Saturday morning. It was a bit windy but beautiful. The Bald eagle and the Golden eagle did a brief flyby. The afternoon gave us another treat as Michelle and her two girls Eden and Lily came by...with birthday pictures, a poem and a song for me. We explored the nearby lake shore, observed a killdeer defending her nest and had a few guitar songs from Mike. The girls got the feel of the kayak....while it was sitting on the truck !!!. It was a very special weekend....thanks to everyone.
Some early evening fishing
And happy hour
A lovely dinner
And an evening walk
Bafore lighting a fire
Bixby found something to fiddle with
melting and pouring it into egg cartons
to make fire starters.
Then the smores making stuff came to the party
Saturday morning we threw the 2 kayaks
into the truck and headed for the boat ramp
We headed to explore a cave
There was some discussion
about paddling technique
A good paddle to get in as the wind came up
Our next treat...Michelle, Eden and Lily
We enjoyed several card games in the evening.
In the morning...
Bixby takes over the camera
for some creative shots
An early morning tickle
A lovely birthday treat.
