Janet's pictures from Sequoia backpacking trip

 Janet Cooper took some great pictures on our recent backpacking trip of six days into Sequoia and Kings Canyon park. Thanks Janet, and thank you also for planning a great trip.

We did a day hike to Marble Falls to acclimate

Then the start of our 6 day backpack the next day.

This was the beginning of the backpack in Lodgepole Campground, Sequoia National Park

Before the trip we stayed at an air BandB at Three Rivers. 

Its tradition for us to put on our harem pants and take a goofy picture together.

As I sat there a lovely little chipmunk came out of the bushes to say goodbye..

Enjoying the beach

 

This week has been smokey because of all the fires in California.

The closest to us is up near Big Sur in our beloved Ventana wilderness..

As the smoke cleared a bit on Saturday we headed for the beach.

A seal came up and sat with us.

                              After climbing on the cliffs for a while, Bixby began on digging a hole

And the seal naps on...

And Mike teaches Bixby how to fly with the flight simulator.

Occasionally we get a treat in Cambria. when a local, Neal Dundas,

plays his bagpipes on the bluffs at sunset.

Mike and I enjoy the sort scooter ride which adds to the ambiance of the evening.
