Mike and I explored a beach just north of San Simeon today. We followed Arroyo De La Laguna down to the beach. We were the only ones on the beautiful bay and animal tracks were still fresh over the dunes, coyote, deer and raccoons.
There are some fantastic uplifted,
sedimentary cliffs along this beach.
Boulders have been lifted and
set onto the cliff from the strong tides
There are wonderful coves to sunbathe in.
This harder rock in the core
Layers of all colors
Where the arroyo meets the ocean
We follow the fence back to the car.
This is Hearst property that he lets the public access.
The fence keeps the cows in.
Back to check out the new location of the Hearst Winery
and then lunch at Moonstone Grill.
Last Sunday was the Greenspace Nature Club
that I facilitate once a month.
We explored another nearby beach.
and another smaller creek flowing into the ocean.
A chance to enjoy the mud and wet sand.
And look for crabs under the rocks.
