Sierra Nevada Beach

We spent a beautiful, relaxing day exploring a new beach today. Just a few miles north of Piedras Blancas lighthouse we accessed Sierra Nevada Beach through a stile off hwy 1.
The trail follows the bluffs down to the long, curved beach.

Mike greets a deer  just off the trail

The layers of rocks are amazing.

The constant movement of the waves
and the changing light is mesmerizing

We tracked some animal tracks. No dogs allowed on this beach
We think that these are coyote.

While we were eating our picnic lunch
a red fox appeared on the cliff. He was trying to dig out a gopher .
Couldn't get the camera out fast enough to catch him, but watched his
bouncy red tail for several minutes.

We looked for him on the cliff but only found
tracks and scat.

I think this is wild boar scat.

This is a turkey vulture but on our way
there we saw a condor flying over hwy 1.

Endless beautiful coves.

Many trails to explore
The end to a perfect day.
