Boys part two

Arlo and Jack stayed on a couple more weeks.
 We had time with Bixby

 And time at the beach

And the humpbacks were there..
not as close as last year but
close enough to see.

Mike even joined them
on a foggy day in Cayucos

Mike had to struggle in and out of his wet suit

 Jack finds it very funny

A day spent exploring the Estero shoreline

 tossing rocks

Morro Rock shrouded in fog

Interesting rocks

and some to take home

Lunch and card games in the RV

And more groceries

We spent time in Santa Rosa creek

 Nature Club by the creek

Dinners cooked together
and building toys remembered from the past

chocolate cake making...and licking

Desserts eaten

We saw the play "The Wizard of Oz" at the PAC

 2 birthday dinners
and Aunt Kellys ice cream cake

Happy 13th birthday, Jack
Happy 15 th birthday Arlo

A tour of Vandenberg Airforce base
the site of rocket launches, Space X and early shuttle base

The rockets were assembled inside this building
and then the buildings moved aside at launch time

We built planes and flew them at the park

We lit a fire using a magnifier
then roasted hot dogs.

Mike received a nice gift from Tina and Cameron.
We joined Janet and Joel on a hike to point Buchon

And enjoyed the sink hole

Found a small snake

And cows on the trail

Lunch at the point we could see
Diablo nuclear power plant

 Jack studied what happens
when he throws rocks into the cow plops

Ice Cream in harmony at the end

Jack made a bed for Fred, his elephant seal
 he enjoyed whittling sticks
 We had visitors from Oregon
Kristen and Danielle and Rachel and Steve
We took them to see the elephant seals

 My mom joined us

Then we sat and chatted on San Simeon Pier
 And in our garden

Looking at old photographs

Then it was time for Bixby to say goodbye to his cousins

An early moring hug from Nana and we are off to the airport

Till next year
