North to Monterey.

Last week we headed up Highway 1 north to Monterey. First night we camped at Plaskett Creek and explored Sand Dollar beach. On the way up we stopped and watched a nest being built.

 The boys enjoyed the chipmunks

Bixby is interested in the rocks

Arlo really has a way with animals. I wouldn't really recommend
getting  this close but it it was a surprise when it just hopped up.

 Down to Sand Dollar beach

 Where we explored the caves

 And the serpentine rock

The boys engineered a dam while the adults rested

Back at the campsite, poppers were popped and a fire lit

 Roasted hot dogs for dinner

 Termites in a log
 And...finally bed time.
The next day we headed north

 Wheres Bixby.?...On his bridge !!

The boys practiced their Parkcor moves
Time to draw

The next campground at Monterey Dunes had a great path to the beach.

With a fun way to get down to the beach
 And a swim for Jack

A humpback whale breached in front of us (No picture)
We made cupcakes for Grandads birthday

 And burgers for dinner

A bit of horsing around and then...time for bed again.

The next day we went to the Monterey Bay aquarium.

To touch the Bat Rays

Where shall we go next?

 Octopi for everyone
Tired at the end of a great day
We headed for home but one more adventure awaited us.
We had a separated tire coming over the 46 so we waited for the AAA
to come and change our tire. We ate the emergency meals in the RV.
