And another hike and campout

Last week a group of us hiked the Vicente flats trail on the beautiful Big Sur Coast, just up the road from us !!! We then camped the night at Kirk Creek Campground opposite the trail head.

 There were at least 3 whales below us,

heading north, close to shore to protect their baby.

 Janet finds things along the trail to enhance her costume.

 We passed through a couple of ancient redwood groves

 The long and winding road

 Leading back to camp and a well earned rest

 Janet and I took a walk down the overgrown

trail from the campground

 down to the rocky beach 

 Before dinner snacks provided by Jon and Judy

 Grilled vegetables lovingly cooked by Janet and Joel

 While Mike, Brad and Jon serenaded us with music

 Brad added some good harmonica licks

 Then fixed a delicious salad

 The motor home adds some comforts of home

Then the feast

 We had two birthdays to celebrate...Brads and Jons

 We had fun with the whipped cream and cherries

 The next morning looked good....and then the clouds 

swept down the coast and it began to rain

just as we pulled out to come home.
