May 2nd....a birthday for Sue

I cant believe that I am one year shy of 70....but I feel great. We decided to mark the celebration Covid shelter at home style.....with a family Zoom birthday party.

Crazy family stuff
Kids in masks, trying out special effects,
Bixby hanging up side down in space,
Arlo with full gas mask, Jacks smiley mask...
Aislinn looking so grown up.
Dani in her hoodie...
Tina, Kelly and Cameron and Mike
just enjoying it.
and..of course.
Me the birthday girl.
The best treat ever.

And my own crazyness
modeling my mask made from a cup cake paper
and a very valuable gift...

Then Mike and I walked the Ranch,
which is in full bloom.

 My favorite Tidy Tips

Then time to cook dinner.
Mike rocking out playing air guitar
and me dancing to the Beatles
Twist and Shout"

And a little baby Chick a dee that
hatched in one of our nesting
boxes. We witnessed its first flight.

I often walk down Fern Canyon
to go to my dads to pick up his mail.

Time in the garden, a project and two nice walks

The garden is looking lovely after the rain

Oranges and avacados

Cozy evenings with a fire and a book
and Mikes homemade soda bread
and my lemon curd

Another score on 2 rolls of TP

Mike made  a holder for his flutes and now
he has a nice corner to display them in.

Last week we walked the Estero bluffs

The wildflowers are up
poppies and blue eyed grass

A good look at the seal rookery

Poppy hill, but on a closer look
a rescue was going on....

A rescue was happening...most likely a twisted ankle?

Today, Sunday, and after a zoom service
with our UUCC , another beautiful day to go exploring.
We went to the sand dune beach just north of San Simeon.

Its the first time we have seen
 elephant seals on this beach.
We give them space and they dont bother us.

The rock formations here are wonderful

They like swimming in the fresh water creek

Hearst Castle in the distance
closed now because of the Corona virus

A harmless but curious garter snake
warming itself by our car.

Mike has also been making some more pine needle baskets
