Pinnacles

We spent a couple of days at Pinnacles National Park last week. We have now officially done every trail in the park, this time adding the Tunnel Trail to the High Peaks trail.

The day we arrived we hiked through the caves up to the reservoir.
Its a popular park for rock climbing.

I noticed a big bird in this picture but it was just a crow.
The next day a beautiful condor did fly right over us.

This was the new part we had not traveled before...
the tunnel trail

Its always good to check the map
Three happy hikers

Februarys stormy ocean

This beach has drastically changed this last couple of weeks. Santa Rosa creek has been flowing strongly to the ocean, carving different paths due to the rain and tides. The driftwood has been carried down and collecting on the beach. Bixby has been enjoying time exploring.

The powerful ocean has carved a shelf.
And exposed small rocks in its layers

The waves are big and a muddy brown

Where the river meets the ocean is in turmoil

The rocks are different when they have come down the river

The big stick we had to leave behind

Bixby caught running..and he takes a picture

The sea gulls are fun to watch.
They fly up the river and then float down.
I think they are playing but Mike thinks that they
are bathing in the fresh water.
