... Now on to the Healthy New Year part

Two posts in one day...don't miss the Christmas post below...but on to the New Year. After Christmas we headed off to camp at Santa Margarita Lake for the New Year and The Running Chicken race event.

Mike makes a pine needle basket

from the needles in our site.

Bixby comes to stay with us for New Years Eve,
We celebrate with card games

and he made us a charcuterie platter

Fun was had in the top bunk

Kelly joined us on New Years Day.
On Sunday morning we awoke to a frosty scene
Mike captures an icicle on the RV window

Kelly and I headed off to "run" the 5k race honoring
Brynn and Bitti Frace, 2 sisters who died tragically
in a car accident a few years ago.
They were very active runners in the area
and their family foundation raises money for scholarships.
Kelly used to work with their father, Warren.
We both always meet up with people that we know there.

The crowds pour in.

We line up for the start

And we are off.

Look closely and you will see
Kelly and I in the middle of the crowd.
She is wearing a pink jacket, and you can see my "blond" hair
We enjoyed fast walking and chatting
with my friend Chris.
We didn't take our own pictures,
but I took some off the web site.

After a Jimmy Hendrix version of the anthem

Photos were taken along the trail.
Chris's son Matthew runs the 10K.

Signs of encouragement along the way

At the finish, pancakes are served
and games are played.
She is mixing the batter !!!

Its a great event for all ages.

Happy Holidays and A healthy New Year

We celebrated a close family Christmas Day, bringing my dad in for gift giving and lunch, then relaxing into playing cards, exploring gifts and easy soup dinner. It felt fine to have a slightly more low keyed  get together.

But...... First....by the magic google and ...and Tina's new camera...a few from Ohio....

Nice outfit, Cameron
Pretty necklace, Aislinn

And whatever that is Jack???

A really unexpected surprise for Jack.
He usually only asks for candy..
so we all chipped in for an Oculus this year.

Aislinn still enjoys  plush cuddlees

And family memories captured on blankets

Jack cuddles with a bread pillow ???

And Cameron has a new favorite tee shirt
to wear to his job at the meat/deli shop

Cameron and Mike will be making
matching Ukes....3,000 miles apart.

Cute Kittens

Meanwhile.....back in California

Table top tennis...
we always seem to give each other lots of fun games

Bixby became an instant whiz
on his new hover board.
He gave his mom some lessons

Bixby is so comfortable that he can
dance and play Uke on it !!!!
very impressive.

Then on to cards....Three Crowns

And Nana trying...what ever that is !!!!
Virtual Sound Bash !!!!

Then a break for making cotton Candy
the healthy kind !!!!

And the highlight.
a roller skating session..

And what would Christmas be without
a round of Holiday Charades.
