A fantastic day on the water

Yesterday six of us went kayaking to explore the dinosaur caves in Shell Beach. We chose to go on a guided tour with Kristen from Central Coast Kayaks. He guided us expertly in and out of the tight caves.

We are ready to go...
I partnered with Cindy

Janet and Joel

Sue and Cindy

We threaded the needle
through a narrow space

Learned how to pivot in the cave
and paddle hard to get in and out

The Tuff cliffs are fantastic

Sometimes we were riding the swells
in and out of the caves

Some of the caves were dark

A great feeling of power
 and accomplishment.

Jon and Judy

At one point a harbor seal tried
to get onto Kristen's kayak.

Wait for the perfect timing
to paddle out of a cave

Our guide Kristen
took great photos

A big set came in right as we were
paddling out and the wave broke over us.

We landed for a snack

in a cave

An Easter Visit from Cameron

My dad is finally allowed visitors again after
several "openings" and then more positive test
and shut downs at Creston Village.
We were able to enjoy an Easter picnic together.

Cameron flew in from Ohio and drove dads car back.
He made it in 3 days. Arlo and Jack will make good use
of it as they learn to drive.

We managed a walk at the beach

Cameron enjoyed exploring my moms artwork

We spent time at Kellys.
Bixby enjoyed some water play

We mowed the lawn

Cameron had a short visit with his Grandad.

Then off for his long drive home

Cameron found boxes of his old stuff
to take back with him...
including these very big tools.

Arlo has his first job at a meat/deli shop

We managed a night camping
at San Simeon with Kelly and Bixby

Good company,  Good food

Kelly has my 1985 VW camper
and its still going great.
We chose to rough it in my little
back packing tent.

Good fire,  Good card games
