The Amgen Bike tour came right by the bottom of our street as they raced from the Monterrey area to Morro Bay down Hwy 1. We cheered them on as they sped past.
A helicopter filmed them from above
They threw water bottles for the kids to retrieve..
Mike and I managed a few days at Santa Margarita Lake.
It was beautiful, with clouds and a little rain.
We had our favorite site right on the lake.
The lake is full from the rains
and a boat can be docked in the site
for easy fishing.
The storm rolls in
And we watched from inside our cozy RV
It stops just in time to BBQ
The next morning we explore the trails
Sticky Monkey flower lines the banks
A lovely sunset and a good nights sleep
under our cozy comforter.
under our cozy comforter.
Mike collected grey pine needles
for his basket making
This lake has amazing grey pines
Some with the dreaded dwarf mistletoe
As we climb good views are revealed
Birds soar above us
The red wing is one of our favorites
Time to sit and contemplate
the beauty of nature
Ducks study us
Mike catches some weeds
And finds the dock easier
A very pretty spot to be
Time to play
And a meal enjoyed outside
Home to find a gift for Nana from her grand-kids
lovingly sent by Cameron and Tina and family
My brother Simon and his wife Rexine
drive down from Oregon for the Memorial holiday.
We visit mom at Creston Village for a BBQ
