Bixby enjoyed a morning ride around the lake
with Mike, Kelly and I bringing up the rear.
The clouds were moving in.
And we found Jacks Hill
We talked about how we would kayak
the lake in the spring
It became so stormy that the
scullers had to exit the lake.
The RV called to us as the first raindrops fell.
There was actually a faint rainbow.
There...just above the lake...
Games of Uno were enjoyed
The lake fills up
And we actually see a hawk kill a duck
and proceeded to eat it...fending off
the Turkey vultures who want some too.
Another camper, Sam,
comes out to photograph the action.
Meanwhile Kelly and Bix read together
And Nana comes in from enjoying the rain,
looking bedraggled but ready for some Uno
The next day Kelly and I and many of our friends
took part in a walk/run to honor her friend
Warrens two daughters, Brynn and Bitti
who were killed last year in a car accident.
There were over 350 racers there and it was a great event.
This is Chris's son Matthew
who is quite the competitive runner
and ran the half marathon.
We all felt proud of our participation.
Lots of competitive runners up front.
Matthew, far left in yellow, sets his watch.
Chris and Kelly and I chatted all the way.
who is quite the competitive runner
and ran the half marathon.
We all felt proud of our participation.
Early this Saturday Mike and I went up Hwy 46
and saw a Vandenberg rocket launch.
And here is our son Cameron, in snowy Dayton Ohio
Like a Christmas card...he says.
