Another good hike

This week I was lucky enough to hike twice. Tuesday was spent with my friends Chris and Lucy, hiking to look over the dam at Santa Margarita...good memories and a great lunch after to celebrate Lucy's birthday, although no photos were taken.
. On Wednesday Janet, Joel, Mary , Randy and I hiked the Cuesta Ridge trail to the botanical area and then down and up again. It was a bun buster but they are training for the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu.

The Morros laid out below us

 Where we had lunch

 before heading down

Within a few minutes the fog came in
covering the Morros

Its good to know where you are on the trail
Joel relies on his phone while Randy finds us on the map.

We arrive at the bottom...just to climb up to the ridge again.

 We take the Shooters Trail..

A good workout with good company

Happy New Year 2018, Christmas pics and a few of our goodbye to Rhaelynn.

Happy New Year and a good time this morning at the Cayucos Polar Dip. It was not that cold....about 75 degrees as the air temperature but of course colder in the ocean. They do make a real party of it with music, dancing and judging of the costumes. A real Sea of humanity.

Morro Rock and a sail boat in the distance.
The Party continues after.

We awoke Christmas morning to the
fearless Turkeys parading in front of our house.

They often hang out in front of our house
and Nate and Linda's across the street.

Sadly this is the last year for our singing Santa.
He ceased to work after the holidays. RIP

It was over the hill to Kelly
and Brian and Bixbys house
on Christmas morning

 An inflatable chair for Bixby

 Gifts for all

Wind chimes and an Operation Game
that Kelly remembers from her childhood

"I made a pot for you mom"

Pies to bake

 Puzzles to work on

Ouch !!!poor guy

Weaving

Then a friend comes for dinner.
After dessert...the British tradition of pulling crackers
wearing the silly hats and playing the musical blowers.

A good time was had by all.

Before Christmas we had a party to say goodbye
to Rhaelynn as she headed for a new adventure in Oklahoma.
