Yosemite

Then we were off for a few days in Yosemite. Jack and Arlo had not been yet and they found it "AWESOME"

We stayed in the Camp Curry tent cabins. The boys immediately found a big rock to climb

Unfortunately Jack had a stomach bug the first night but still managed to hike to Vernal falls the next day. He was a trooper and he was proud of himself that he "made the whole day without throwing up" I told him that he would be my inspiration t when I return to hike the John Muir trail later in the summer.

                                          Arlo sketched Half Dome

And of course we had to cross the meadow calling for "Elmer"

Jack always finds the wildlife and came up with many ways to use his bandana

Thats Arlo at the base of Yosemite falls

We had time to look for climbers on El Capitan on the way out of the park. There were not many as there had been rain and thunder and lightening the night before.

We spotted a mama bear and her cub and had a last look at the big trees in the Mariposa grove.
I flew the boys back to Ohio a few days later after a wonderful month together.

Jack and Arlos visit 2014

Jack and Arlo stayed with us in Cambria for almost the whole month of June. It allowed time for family, a few days in Yosemite together and of course just hanging out in Cambria.

Arlo and Jack are very interested in Geology so we went digging for cinnabar geodes on the 46 Hwy.

                                                  Arlo made friends with Lexie
And went to wood carving with Mike

We enjoyed lots of games together, especially canasta
We enjoyed a beach party with Kelly and Brians friends at Cayucos. It was great for buggy boarding
Bixby and his friend enjoyed the drums

Cooking hot dogs and Bix enjoying watermelon

Jack loves playing in the waves

Bixby led the drum circle while his dad played guitar

Jack found a stick insect  and there is lots of boy play in the garden

We find time for fishing on San Simeon pier
I love just watching the boys explore and play

                                                 Some cooking and eating.

And a last walk in our neighborhood to watch the deer at sunset

                                              And pick some blackberries
And one last sleepover for all 3 boys

Jack discovers frogs at a local lagoon

So many good beaches and hikes to explore

Arlo and Jack celebrated their birthdays a little early at their great grandparents house.
My parents, Nana Gwen and Granddad Oscar now live here in Cambria
